VISIONARY PUZZLE ADVENTURE GAME “EVER FORWARD” REIMAGINES MYSTERY THIS SUMMER
NEWEST TITLE FROM “MY TIME AT PORTIA” STUDIO TO RECEIVE FREE STEAM DEMO AVAILABLE NOW
Developer Pathea Games, the studio behind the award-winning sandbox RPG My Time at Portia, has announced today that they have released a free demo on Steam for its new imaginative puzzle platform adventure title Ever Forward, scheduled for launch this summer on PC.
In Ever Forward players impersonate Maya; a twelve-year-old girl lost on the edge of dreams and reality. As they unveil the mysteries of her subconscious, the players will unlock her memories step-by-step and progressively face her fears and sorrows. By facing challenging puzzles and exploring breathtaking environments, they will slowly reveal the secrets buried in Maya’s heart.
Maya’s journey of self-discovery will see her explore idyllic, pastel-colored fields, charming seaside coasts, and futuristic neon environments where stealth and careful observation are key. Fans will be able to complete puzzles in a variety of different ways thanks to mechanics that include teleportation, gravity manipulation, and more. This world between fiction and reality will open up as players collect memory fragments, unearth new puzzles, and shed light on the dark secrets hidden within Maya’s consciousness.
The Ever Forward demo will let fans experience nearly 40% of the entire game content, challenging them with eight intricately designed puzzles. At the same time, players will be able to immerse themselves with the game’s dual environments and dive into the main characters (Maya) memories and secrets.
“Our development team spent more than three years designing challenges with the ultimate puzzle adventure fans in mind,” says Bin Yang, Director of Ever Forward. “We can’t wait for players to immerse themselves in our dream world and unlock the mystery surrounding Maya’s past.”

I think the PuzzleScript tag was added by mistake.
Oh my god.... this was amazing. I am usually really bad at stealth but this was great and when I found out that you made this game. Well, let's say my sister was amazed as well cause she loved My Time at Portia. Just in case if people are interested, then they can watch my video here.
My sister was playing it on an Xbox till she finished it! LOL
It's kinda funny you say that because as soon as I saw it, I was astonished. I remembered my sister telling me about this story. And here I am now.
I can't wait for the full game. I love the way the memories look and the art style of this game.
I love the aesthetics and presentation of this game, it definitely made me want to find out what happened next. However...
In my playthrough, I spent 15 minutes on a section with two 'roundeys' that were facing each other. After being lasered to death many, many times, I was forced to give up as I could not think of a solution that didn't involve pixel-perfect throwing accuracy and a prescient ability to predict their sweep pattern.
If your game requires something as insane as that to solve one of the puzzles, when all the previous ones were not of that nature, well then that puzzle needs to be changed.

Mmm 40% of the game, this game seems too short, also i don't like that you made the solution for puzzles frustrating to perform, more than difficult to figure out the solution
The product has Amazing quality but i would say definetly too short if i just Played 40% of it..meh
HI I loved this game and played it about a month ago,
I can't express this enough that this is one of the most beautiful games i've ever played!
I did a demo play through over youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdNrbYlkvjo&list=PL-RAMyoh6Zc1Vo6BEsKrQ5gdpNhoDso95
There's so much I adore about this game. I love the style, graphically it's really pleasant to look at. The story you've got building up in the background as you beat each level really inspires the player to keep going as well. Clever game mechanics for sure!
I did get completely stumped as I got further into this demo though, and frustration took over as I tried (and failed) to get past a certain set of fiendish puzzles. Perhaps I'll try again at some point (I did try a few other things after initially giving up but I didn't get anywhere), but for now I'll just be happy with what I managed to complete!
I'm sure this game will be super successful, I just wish I had the brains to match it =D keep up the amazing work, this was honestly a beautifully made demo.

After Downward now Ever Forward...
It seems to require a high performace graphics card.
We did a lot of optimization, it doesn't need a high graphics card. The minimum we suggest Nvidia GTX760 or AMD Radeon 7950
Minimum requirements are entry level gaming graphics card from 7 years ago. Not necessarily what I would refer to as high performance, today. Can pick up and equivalents or better card for less than $80 on the used market any day of the week.
Good game, graphics, and playability
It looks good but whenever I try to load EverForeward it crashes on me why is that?
edit: It finally booted up and man are the graphics are top notch! this might be my favorite indie game yet!!
This isn't my normal go to art style, however it is one that I have always thoroughly enjoyed. Sadly, not many people go with this style any more. So, well done on this game! It was a blast!
Nice gameplay, Haha, we're happy about you like it. We tried cold steel style before we tried this kind of warm and clean art
I think the warm and clean art was absolutely on point and helped bring out the atmosphere
We updated our demo, please to refer our twitter Twitter update news! Thank you all!
Hi, your game looks amazing, I noticed there was no ESRB rating, how would you categorize the target demographic?
We are in the rating application process now, but it isn't finished yet, I can't tell any concrete news in case of misleading. Generally, we categorize the target by focusing on puzzle gamers.
This looks really interesting - going to give this one a look today; upcoming feature highlight on my channel to follow!
Back with my thoughts sooooon :)
Sounds great! Let me know your video, I'd love to share it
Hi! Sorry for the delay but really enjoyed the game so far - I hope the story gets explained more and that the puzzle variety increases as Maya gets deeper into the island etc; but it's beautiful to play and I am looking forward to the full release!! :)
Vid below:
Just asking, why is the game page written as if it was some kind of news report? Speak directly, colloquially, as if you're personally asking your players to play the game. Don't get distant. There's a handy tip for ya.
It's a fairly professional intro. I dug it.
I had quite a bit of fun playing the demo. The game is really crisp, clean, and beautiful. The puzzles are challenging enough to be fun, but not too challenging that someone who isn't an avid puzzle gamer won't have fun. I did get stuck on the last puzzle, but after seeing the solution I'm confident in saying I just suck at puzzles. The story, from what I've seen, is really good and I'm looking forward to the full release so I can finish it! :)
Cool, I'm more than happy to hear you had fun. And all puzzles will get harder in later levels, right now, those puzzles are just appetizers, they are using to help gamers know about the basic elements.
The game is really great but the biggest problem i had with the game is the bot. The bot mained puzzles are inconsistant and dont have any indications how the bots turn. The game was mostly really fun but the last level ruined the experience, because I already tried a similiar thing and it didnt work, because the catch was to throw the cubes in a way so that they loo like they are gonna fall off the edge BUT ACTUALLY dont.
Dont get me wrong, i love the game, but the puzzles need to give the player more place to work with.. the last puzzle was too specific and one way.. i seriously tried many other ways and in the end there was one way to solve the puzzle whitch feltsoo close. Please dont take this as a hate comment, but as constructive criticism.
(and there was the bug of snow not showing in the cutscene, dont know if that was intentional or not)
Haha, surely, your constructive criticism is great. We're trying to give more instructions about the bot in the first two tutorial levels. We will give more types of puzzles too. For some puzzles, our designers were trying to hide the correct way inside the blind point. So those puzzles become more challenging and only have one way.
(We are still working on the snow, so it's intentionally we didn't add it for now.)
Good Story driven game. not to strong on puzzles but this is just a demo but them graphics is nice!
Haha, that's funny gameplay, we will make harder puzzles in the later version!
my pc info :
bro I know what you're feeling after checking PC requirements. Its the same everywhere in these Modern Games.
Try it first! If it isn't compatible right now, no worries, we will have a better optimized version.
So beautiful!!! I love the art style. I can't wait for the full game!!
nice game play *-*
Me too, we are doing the final optimization and fixing bugs, our target is late of July!
SOOO excited!!
Waaaaaaa! Amazing
I would actually like to pay money for this when it comes out
What a good words to us! we will do more optimizations, try our best to make you feel good about the final version .
It looks great! It reminds me Mirror Edge
Glad you like it. How do you feel about those puzzles?
I Feel good, but I'm locked to this level. I saw on youtube that there's a wall on this level... and I cant't press Y to change level, I mean that I press Y but nothing happen
We update and cancel the wall, try to make this puzzle more challenging. And the Y needs you to finish all levels first, then, it can work
haha I can't believe, I hope to find a way to solve this level. Thank you
Will there be a Mac OS version? The game looks so great
We may make a plan in the future, because our first focus will be on console version after windows released.
ah thank you for letting me know
Can i know the graphic type that you used it in this game ??..... because i love it
haha, we self call it "clean fresh art", but we don't know how the exact official name of the art style too!
I wish I could sprint! For the rest I love it
You got something real nice here, looking forward to the ful game.
Our target is to get the full game on July, and for this demo, if you have any questions or suggestions, you can tell us
The visuals, atmosphere, and puzzles are amazing. I can't wait to finish it!!
Nice gamplay video. And looks like you didn't stuck in anywhere, seems the full game needs to be harder, Lol
Really nice looking game.
We will optimize more in graphic in the full game. and how do you think about those puzzles, hard or easy?
Yeah, it's just recording that makes it run worse. They were good for beginning puzzles, i assume they get harder as the game progresses?
Is there any similar game like Ever Forward, mind blowing visuals!!!
Maybe Ever Forward full game, hahaha
Yup, sure.
The visuals are comparable to those of RiME and The Witness. Both of these games are also set on an island.
Yeah somewhat, RiME has somewhat similar animation but the background wasn't upto my taste.
the art is simply breathtaking.... can't waittt!
Target time is the July, we will make it better than demo
this looks sooo goo
I wanted to try this, but I need to know if my potato computer can ran this. What is the minimum system requirements?
specs are listed on steam.
Win 10, lowest requirements are Intel Core i3-2100 | AMD FX-6300; 4 GB RAM; Nvidia GeForce GTX760 | AMD Radeon 7950; DirectX 11; 4G storage rooms;
You can try, and we will try to optimize it
maybe you can make a lightweight version. so, low end pc can play that game (Low End Pc: 2GB)
what software did you use to make this?
It looks like Unity.
yeah, Unity 3d engine
nice try, haha, we use Unity 3d
WOOOOOOOW!
WoooooooW!!! Will you try?
